Fandoms I am in love with forever: books! Of all sorts! Vorkosigan, Tolkien, Diana Wynne Jones, LeGuin, Susan Cooper, Dante, L'Engle, Megan Whalen Turner, the Mabinogion. Lately I've been obsessively rereading Cynthia Voigt's Tillerman cycle. Also musicals and opera, particularly Mozart operas and the Ring cycle, though lately musicals have been more dominant.
Current fandoms: Les Miserables. The Good Wife. ST:DS9. SGU. Rosemary Sutcliff.
Past fandoms: I still like these and am super-willing to talk about them, but just don't keep up as much. OUAT. (Watched first season, haven't watched much of second season.) Harry Potter. Star Trek:AOS.
Favorite FFA threads: The ones with all kinds of meta-analysis. The Les Mis threads, especially the filks! Also, that one fic-rec thread where I found the two other people (in the world?) who have read (and adored) Cordwainer Smith, and I'm secretly sort of hoping that maybe they're on this thread too :) Oh, also that thread about Bible fanwank -- I adored the idea of a nice fanwank fight about Jacob/Leah vs. Jacob/Rachel ships, etc.
Things you'd love to have more conversations about: Meta! Books! Music! (And Bible fanwank! And Cordwainer Smith!)
What your journal's like: Mostly lots of rambling on about books and music. Let's see.. lately I've posted on L'Engle, Phantom of the Opera recordings, marble runs, various Sutcliff books, and the book Admission by Jean Korelitz. Sometimes I post every day, and sometimes I go weeks without posting. Recently I've been trying to read more meaty books and do multiple posts about them; so far I've done Les Mis and the Aeneid, and I think I might do Moby-Dick next.
Friending dealbreakers: Too much demonization of any side of the political spectrum.
Some other things about you: I have a geeky husband and a small kid, whom I talk about infrequently. My job is in technical analysis. I sing in choir and do other music-ish things.
Sites where you'd like to be added: Most active on dreamwidth as cahn, partially because work blocks LJ and partially because everyone else I know is on DW now. I also write fic on dreamwidth as raspberryhunter, and am on LJ as charlie_ego and berryhunter respectively.
