the character I least understand

I've probably got less in common with Stewart than either of the other guys. Miles is a mystery (though in his elder brother role he reminds me weirdly of R's elder brother despite dissimilar personalities). And I just don't know a whole lot about Henri...

Also, the biggest mystery of the Police era is how anyone could put out an album with this artist logo and not go, "SHIT! SHIT! Resize those Ks!"

interactions I enjoyed the most

I just fell down a clickhole for an hour, googling unseemly things like "Sting's butt". It was terrible. Yes, terrible... but eventually I dug through my old laptop and found this again, which I think is the greatest interaction between one band member and another('s butt) of all time:

I'm also a huge fan of the rehearsal scenes on Better Than Therapy.

And there's always, "I blame the man holding the camera for all of my problems."

And then there was the time with Andy and the sumo wrestler...

the character who scares me the most
Well, I think Miles is kind of intimidating...

the character who is mostly like me

Sting is probably most like me, but with a better work ethic. If we're going with songs, Does Everyone Stare? is very me. Tentativeness, uncertainty, absurdity. I love that it's a song that has both the lines, "I never noticed the size of my feet... until I kicked you in the shins," AND "I want to write you a sonnet but I don't know where to start / I'm so used to laughing at the things in my heart"...

hottest looks character

I refer you to that clickhole I ended up in earlier.

one thing I dislike about my fave character

The quavering uncertainty of not knowing if the 57th & 9th tour will come here or not.

one thing I like about my hated character

Nah, I don't hate any of them.

a quote or scene that haunts me

Hearing the Last Exit version of I Burn For You for the first time was pretty haunting. It's like that thing in High Fidelity where the narrator talks about seeing a childhood photo of Paul McCartney and thinking,
"Wow, he doesn't know, he's got all that in front of him." At the same time, he was ambitious as hell and the songwriting chops were already there.

a death that left me indifferent

This breaks down when it comes to RL fandoms - taken together with the next question (strike it, reverse it, thank you), I think we all wish Kim and Ian were still in the land of the living...

a character I wish died but didn’t

Let's make that an instrument. Whenever I listen to Ghost in the Machine, I'm often struck by the fact that little of value would have been lost if Sting hadn't had sax lessons and then wanted to play sax on half the songs on that album...

my ship that never sailed

If I may include stuff from their solo careers, it is a goddamn tragedy for my two main fandoms that the talks about Sting doing an Interview with the Vampire musical never came to anything.
