"Band morale is very high"
Mar. 5th, 2012 12:41 pmAUGH, STEWART. JUST... AUGH.
This is what watching the post-tour Melbourne, 1984 interview on the Synchronicity Concert DVD will do to a woman. This little snippet hits every single cliche of band angst ever: they like each other, they're getting on well, they're feeling very positive... it just blows the mind to watch this and be aware of all the background stuff. I'm sure I've seen it before, but we're talking years ago, and since then everyone's written a book and various revealing articles have been published, so the full extent of their ~positive feeling about each other is known. Oh boy.
Andy's in pretty much the same boat, and I don't think I've ever seen so many nervous tics from Sting in one interview, which is really saying something. I bet they were glad to get through that round of PR appearances ("I was watching Elton John last night... he'll go forever. I hope we do.") in order to stop having to repeat that stuff...
Nice DVD overall, btw. I think I enjoyed the concert more than when I originally saw it years back...
