Naturally after the tumult of The End Of Hannibal, I had to get back into Ripper Street. I am assured that it's worth hanging in there for, but my god, it's accomplished more wailing and gnashing of teeth in this house in the first four episodes of season 3 than Hannibal did in an entire three seasons. Yes, even the episode with the... laboratory slides...

Is it worth watching? I tried it at one point but didn't get pulled in. But I'm obsessed with Jack the Ripper, and really, really wanted it to work. Should I give it another try? (also, have not caught up on Hannibal yet)

It's not actually about Jack the Ripper - it takes place in Whitechapel in the years after his crimes (Fred Abberline shows up), but the murders only become directly significant in the third series, in terms of their impact on a character. It's really worth giving it another go, though - excellent writing and acting, though as I say, season three really does put you through the emotional wringer!

Keep with it, it gets worse (I've seen it through Amazon Prime). DO NOT MISS AN EPISODE. The clues that are scattered throughout gather together at pace and the culmination was tear-jerking for me. Have the tissues ready.

Ha, and I was just feeling smug about figuring out the thing with the guy who disappeared in the episode with the medium! I'll keep my eyes peeled. :D
